Books
Even though I read and review a lot of books, the list below is composed of all of my favorite books and a short summary of why; I just thought that I should include this on my blog, considering that in my reviews, I don't talk about if the book I'm reviewing is one of my favorites (most of the time, at least...). The list will be updated regularly as I read more books, though please note that some books that are on this list may not have been reviewed on my blog yet.
Oh, and if anyone has any ideas for book that I should read and review, please post a comment with the name of the book and author of said book and I'll try it! 😉
- Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson - The magic sytem is very complex and interesting, and the characters are very well developed. If you like lots of phsycological suspense and lots of magic and action, you'll undoubtedly love this series!
- Ironbound by Andrew Givler - Although the other books in the series have yet to be released, Ironbound took the first-place trophy for my favorite book and kicked Stormlight right off it's pedestal! The setting is akin to ancient Rome, and there is lots of action and very little cursing.
- Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery - This book is one of my favorites becuase I had to read it for school, and I fell in love with the story of Anne and her imagination; she is such a wonderful person, and her story brings a lot of joy to me every time I read it.
- Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers - This is my favorite non-fantasy series (With Anne of Green Gables being my favorite novel) because of the heartwarming Christian theme and Roman setting. The main character remains strong in faith even when cast into the pagan world of Rome, reminding me of with whom my own faith lies.
- Let the Sky Fall series by Shannon Messenger - This series was a very quick, light read with a cool magic idea and a perfect amount of romance. Considering what's out there, this romance series is probably a 1/5 spice level, and the whole theme of the books was fairly clean.
- Silo series by Hugh Howey - Silo was one of the best dystopian books I have ever read; this book was a sit-up book, and not a sit-back one, so to say. The characters were awesome, and the mystery was thrilling!
- The Circle series by Ted Dekker - Though these books were written by Ted Dekker, who usually writes with a dark setting, they were surprisingly strange and fun. The books provide a unique narrative of a dream world that somehow becomes reality, and these books became ubiquitous in the land of my bookshelves!
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games was a brutal series, though (obviously) it was one of my favorites! The action is written very, very well, and the mentally tramautized aspect was very good as well. Definitely try them!
- Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson - The story Warbreaker conveys is very quick, though the magic and politics are fantastic! There are plenty of surprises throughout the book, both good and bad, and there is a shroud of mystery surrounding some aspects of the book, making it one of my favorite books1
