What It's About

Keeper of the Lost Cities is a kids fantasy book about a girl named Sophie Foster. Sophie can, for some reason, hear the thoughts of anyone around her. She is also the only twelve year old in her high school, her intellect rising above that of her peers. But when a stunning boy named Fitz appears at her school on a field trip one day and she realizes she can't hear his thoughts, he flips her world upside down forever.

Fitz tells her what she truly is; an elf. Though incredulous at first, Sophie realizes that what he said is true when her takes her to a city made by other elves. He explains to her that he has telepathy, and so does Sophie, which is why she can hear the unadulterated thoughts of the people around her. She runs away from him at first, but soon takes a liking to him as he takes her to the Council of the elves and shows her just how majestic the species can be.

As Sophie adjusts to the Lost Cities, where the elves live, she must find a new family and leaver her human one in the past. She also has to navigate around the fact that she is no ordianry elf, but one created by a mysterious orginazation. She develops new powers, and new friends, but will it be enough to protect her from the shadowy people trailing her every step?

What I Liked

I liked every single detail of this book! Though it is for kids or younger people, I still loved it so I re-read them every so often. The elves and other mythical creatures aren't cheesy or dumb at all, which I sincerely appreciated. The elves also have abilities like telekenisis and levetation as default skills, along with at least one other unique power of some sort. The powers are well developed and the Lost Cities have a well-built story. The characters are not ever above the age of 16, I  think, which does make the book a little less...not violent, but less action-packed and exciting (for my age).

What I Disliked

I really did like everything about his book, I have zero complaints!

Conclusion

Keeper of the Lost Cities is a kids fantasy book following a unique main character, in a very interesting world. The characters have cool powers and very fun stories!
